Our Mission
Zero Waste Initiative, Inc. seeks to be a catalyst for Saline County, the City of Salina, and the community at large, to develop a culture of
reducing, reusing, re-purposing, recycling and composting practices toward a reduction of waste as close to zero as possible by 2050
Our History
Incorporated in 2023, Zero Waste Initiative Inc began as a community initiative made up of more than 30 organizations seeking to reduce the amount of waste going into our local landfill. Our society is built on disposability and the idea that once our trash is deposited in a container, it is no longer a problem. It is a complex, cultural problem that will take the entire community to address.
